Brief

Increase traffic and advertising revenue by redesigning Stuff Magazine online. The website must incorporate a wealth of new content including editorially driven video casts, as well as creating attractive opportunities for advertisers an sponsors.

Solution

Stuff Magazine is a website packed with excellent content and mouth watering imagery. A key challenge at the Information Architecture stage was to balance consumer content with advertising requirements. The designs took visual cues from the magazine itself, as well as ensuring enough clean white space surrounded the abundance of content. Playgroup built the entire front end and worked with Haymarket to integrate into their existing database and CMS systems.

Results

Stats taken 2 months after launch:

  • Since re-launch, traffic on the Stuff website has increased by 20% Site advertising is up 226% on budget
  • New site features have attracted major sponsors, including 3 Mobile (sponsoring Stuff Podcasts) and Gillette (sponsoring Stuff Vidcasts)
  • Extra advertorials and lifestyle advertisers are on the way for 2007
