Brief

Hyder Consulting is an international advisory and design consultancy with particular specialisation in infrastructure, property and environmental solutions. With over 4,000 people across the UK, Europe, Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Hyder offer clients the benefit of global expertise coupled with local knowledge.

The primary objective of the new site was to tailor the experience of the user to their specific needs. All content was to be user-focused, stressing the benefits Hyder provide rather than a shopping list of services that is typical in the sector.

Solution

The site provides:

A sectoral perspective – being able to demonstrate to a property developer, a transport chief etc that Hyder understand the issues they face and can offer value to their business.

A regional perspective – user that wants to deal with Hyder locally are able to make contact with a relevant local person.

A recruitment perspective – communicating the company as lively and progressive to potential graduate and mature recruits.

Entry to the site is through the Group page, which conveys key brand and value messages. This then leads to sector overviews which refine these messages and offer glimpses of relevant work and drive through to regional pages, specific services and contacts.

A robust content management system built with Microsoft Sharepoint allows Hyder’s editorial team to continually evolve user-centric content.

Playgroup partnered with Brightstarr to deliver the Hyder site.We led the front end design, User Experience (Functional Specification, Content Requirements, Information Architecture etc) while we tapped into Brightstarr’s expertise to build the site using the Microsoft Sharepoint platform.

Results

The new site reflects a contemporary, professional services business that delivers added value to its clients; a business that intimately understands its clients’ business and drivers.
