The ’Flashmob’ craze has really taken off in London, secret organized events where hundreds of people turn up to do something bizarre for a few minutes in a public place then disperse. There’s been pillow fights outside the Gherkin, silent raves in Liverpool street station and Zombie marches on Southbank!
Thanks to Edo, I was passed a link to something, which I thought was hilarious and extremely surreal. It was a video of a ‘Flashmob’ event held in New York’s Grand Central Station, organised by ImprovEverywhere(.com).
Basically, one day 207 members turned up at the station and then, well . . .freezed!
They stopped exactly what they were doing and held that position for 5minutes. They all then simultaneously carried on with what they were doing. It’s incredibly funny to see normal commuting Americans suddenly surrounded by frozen people! See the video here:

Anyway, this gets me thinking – is there any of these events in the UK, and well yes, yes there is, On Tuesday April 1st there is a ‘Paddington’ freeze. The details are below:
Be in the main hall inside Paddington on April 1 at 5PM and freeze your position. Have your mobile phone alarm set for 5:05PM so that you know when to start moving again.
Time sync with the London time on this site:
