Comeback Season - Brand Repositioning

Posted by Ben S on 19/01/2012

Random thought but it is crazy how something so un-cool and so steeped in varying degrees of preconception can pull what can only be described as a miraculous U-turn and somehow either become cool or at the least passable as a half decent conversation piece.

There are some brands both global and personal, which have managed to recapture everyone’s imagination and create more of a buzz than they had ever experienced previously.

Two great examples of a personal and global brand making the ultimate comeback must be Al Gore and Old Spice. Al Gore went from being the man behind Bill Clinton to the global icon behind “An Inconvenient Truth”.

Old Spice took over YouTube with the steady stream of ads, which all but resurrected their brand and flung it back into the public consciousness with the simple phrase “I’m on a horse”.
