Yet another world... with a twist.

I discovered Small Worlds today, nothing new or groundbreaking about this project. But having signed up and created an avatar with a signature dance and a pet, I have to say I actually got a bit hooked. It is like a cross between Second Life and the Sims. It is all built in Flash and got a nice contemporary game look to it. You can chat up people, visit their space, go shopping, pimp up your home, make money, complete tasks etc.. enough activities to waste a good portion of your day.

The game play is quite basic and the lack of a music score or any other sound is quite evident. But there are some clever aspects to this virtual world. You can set up a plasma screen in your space and watch youtube videos, and your friends can visit your space and view the same videos on your screen. This link between the 'real' world and the virtual world opens up a new dimension. So stay tuned, this is yet another baby step, but soon there will be a break through and these social virtual worlds will be fully linked up with our real world.

According to Small Worlds will this be your virtual playground....

I got totally hooked too and i am not even sure its aimed at users who are on the verge of no longer being Gen Y'ers...

p.s. your avatar is scarily lifelike....
