Hello.

This is my first blog after Playgroup kindly invited me to join as a friend. Some of you may have seen me on the box as the co-presenter of the BBC's flagship business television programme, 'Working Lunch'.

I used to work as a correspondent for the programme but left the media temporarily to work in the City as a Director of Marketing & Communications with two big organisations. When Adrian Chiles left 'Working Lunch' to join Match of the Day 2 and 'The Apprentice - You're Fired' however, I was lured back to the media to fill his seat.

I also have my own communications company and that's how I came across Playgroup. I make commercial videos that are very journalistically led (almost like mini-documentaries) and shot one for Playgroup's client, Bovis Lend Lease. It featured a fantastic scheme called BeOnsite, which is designed to get workless people, the disabled and ex-prisoners (also some that are still serving) into training and work.

The video featured on a special website and you can see the example on this page. I was really impressed with the work being carried out by Playgroup so we decided to become best friends.Take a look at the site and you'll see how Meurika's story is an inspiration to us all as she approaches the end of a nine year prison sentence and prepares to embark on a new life, thanks to the scheme.

So, in my blog section, I'll be updating you about some of the interesting stuff that I do in the media - we get to interview some of the world's most inspirational business figures.

See you soon.

Nik
